Lately we have been busy developing and designing an improved and innovative version of the current pulse fishing system. In addition to the new modules, headway was made in other areas, the result of which is installed in the VLI 28 and the ARM 14. One of the most striking innovations is the cable guidance system of the winch.
The cable guidance system‘s suitability for various cable diameters was taken as an important basic principle for the development of the winch and the guidance system. What was also taken into consideration in the construction and choice of material was the usage in the open air on the aft deck of a ship. The construction is predominantly made of stainless steel.
The design of the winch guidance is such, that the guidance is independent of the cable or drum diameter and width.
The guidance system is an independent system which is electronically connected to the winch drum. This allows for making the guidance system suited for a different cable diameter simply by changing a few parameters. If, over time, the cable starts to wind in a different manner, then the guidance system can be easily adjusted.
As regards the control of the guidance system, it has also been taken into consideration that, when the winch and its resulting direction of rotation/change are temporarily not being used, then the guidance, following an approximate half-turn adjustment of the drum, will adjust the guidance system. This prevents the guidance system from moving to and fro, which will help mitigate the extra wear and tear resulting from this movement.
Mechanically and electronically, the entire guidance system is constructed like a module system, so that it can be easily used with any existing winch. Aside from the use of this guidance system for the cables used in pulse fishing, many other uses are possible. You can always contact us for additional explanations and information.
